"How digital do we have to be? The Metropolitan Region consequently focuses on innovative paths," read the topic of the discussion panel "To The Point", broadcast by the Rhine Neckar Television (Rhein-Neckar-Fernsehen) on Friday 9 June 2017. The bottom line at the end of the broadcast in which our CEO Saeid Fasihi participated was that the Metropolitan Region Rhine Neckar is well on the way if they wish to belong to the forefront regarding digitisation in Germany in a couple of years. However, they still have some work ahead to achieve this goal.

"How digital do we have to be? The Metropolitan Region consequently focuses on innovative paths," read the topic of the discussion panel "To The Point", broadcast by the Rhine Neckar Television (Rhein-Neckar-Fernsehen) on Friday 9 June 2017. The bottom line at the end of the broadcast in which our CEO Saeid Fasihi (left in the picture) participated was that the Metropolitan Region Rhine Neckar was well on the way if they wished to belong to the forefront regarding digitisation in Germany in a couple of years. However, they still had some work ahead to achieve this goal.

Fasihi's discussion partners were Dr. Christine Brockmann, Metropolregion Rhein-Neckar GmbH; Stefan Dallinger, Landrat Rhein-Neckar-Kreis (District Administrator); Dr. Wolfgang Niopek, IHK-Rhein-Neckar and Dr. Ursula Redecker, Roche Diagnostics GmbH. The discussion was moderated by the programme director of the RNF, Bert Siegelmann.

Saeid Fasihi stated that the region was already pretty good with respect to digitisation,"however, not good enough so far as we are in need of more qualified staff". Furthermore, he mentioned that the world was constantly changing with object-oriented programming languages gaining ground. Therefore, there would be a need of staff to be able to cope with these constantly changing requirements and to fulfil customers' demands at the same time. Fasihi: "You have to have the courage to hire staff who is more competent than you yourselft. That is what I have done. My team is involved when it comes to bringing the region to the fore. Certainly, things have to change on the level of vocational education enabling us to recruit even more qualified staff. And here, we as a small company face a rough ride."
